PATMOS
The island of Patmos is located in the archipel of the Dodecanese, in the heart of the Aegean Sea.
Even though the superficy of the island is only 34 km2, it holds enough secrets to make you want to stay longer than planned. Between the wild beaches, the hike paths, the typical tavernas, the main platia, the Monastery and the Cave of the Apocalypse, you will find everything you need for a relaxed and enlightful vacation.
HORA
Hora is one of the main villages of the island, alongside Skala, Kampos, Grikos, Meloi... and it is definitely the highest. Located on the top of a hill, its monastery sits in the center, like a protector of the villagers.
Hora of Patmos is many times been referred to as the queen of all Hora's, not only because of the monastery, but for the Byzantine residences that are unique to the island and said to be the strongest built in the Aegean.
THE BEACHES
Patmos is renowned for its wild beaches and creaks. All of them are located on the east side of the island, except for two: Psili Ammos, on the South West side of the island, which welcomes the most waves, and Lambi, hiding the most beautiful pebbles for the eye (it is forbidden to take them home).
Although most beaches are bare, holding a few trees, you will find three arranged location for water sports, sun tanning in the shades and lively tavernas: Kampos, Agriolivadi and Petra.
Each beach has its spot to eat, from the most traditional taverna to the renovated outdoor restaurant with music and games.
